About Us

Mohammed Fahad Alourini Rolling & Smelting Mill

Ourini Steel — the steel-smelting and rolling division of the Wasa'et Al-Naqil group — was established in 1431H (2011) in Riyadh and has grown into one of Saudi Arabia's leading producers of reinforcing steel bars. In 2014 the rolling mill reached a capacity of 36,000 tons a year; ISO 9001 certification followed in 2017, a dedicated scrap-smelting line (24,000 tons a year) in 2018, and the Saudi Quality Mark for reinforcing steel in 2019. In 2024 the plant was comprehensively modernised — new 12-ton melting furnaces and a rebuilt hot-rolling line under PLC and SCADA control — lifting capacity to 50,000 tons a year of billet and 100,000 tons of finished rebar. Today a multinational team of around 150 people runs the 10,050 m² plant.

Sustainability & Vision 2030

Our scrap-smelting line recycles up to 2,000 tons of scrap a month into new billets under a national waste-management permit, and two pollution-control systems — a fume-collection filter on the smelting furnace and a wet scrubber on the rolling furnace — keep the process clean. Non-ferrous materials pass to specialty recyclers, and cut-to-length bars reduce waste on our customers’ sites: Saudi steel supporting a circular economy and higher local content.
